The Ray Bottoms

Made from recycled materials, The Ray bottoms will take you from river to ocean. They come in stand-out slime green and feature a high cut leg and cheeky bum coverage. They offer UPF 50+ protection, are sunscreen, oil, salt, and chlorine resistant, and are anti-pilling for longevity. These bottoms match perfectly with the Ray rashie for a little extra coverage on top when UV is high.

Sold separately because sometimes we’re different sizes top to bottom.

We strive to be sustainable, eco-friendly, and ethical, because we love and care for our planet and all its creatures.

Leticia usually wears an AU size 8 in clothing, AU size 10 in underwear. Here she wears a size M.

The Ray set is made from IOEKO-Tex eco-certified 78% recycled nylon and 22% elastane. In collaboration with the Healthy Seas initiative, old fishing nets and other recovered nylon materials such as fluff and tulle are regenerated by Aquafil into recycled nylon thread with the same performance and quality characteristics as virgin nylon. Dyes are eco-certified by OEKO-Tex and any water used in the dying process is purified before disposal. This piece is produced in Bali with a low carbon footprint. Leftover fabric scraps are donated to charities local to Bali.

Your order will arrive in biodegradable and recycled packaging.

$1 from every Big Swim Co sale is donated to the Environmental Defenders Office in Australia who fight for legislative change to protect our natural environment, giving the planet a voice in the legal system. They run groundbreaking legal cases and advocate for better laws to help build a world where nature survives and thrives. Their work spans protecting Country and culture, protecting habitats and wildlife, tackling climate change, sustainable water sharing, promoting healthy communities, and defending the defenders.

We are committed to fair working conditions. Our friends in Bali who make our swimwear provide all employees above minimum wage, paid time off, medical insurance, lunch, overtime, and comfortable working conditions. They also contribute monthly to the Bali Street Mums charity, which offers assistance to caregivers and children who scavenge for their livelihood, providing them safe houses, health care, toiletries, clothing, and reading and writing skills.

Look after your swimwear so you can wear it summer after summer. Make sure you hand wash your pieces in fresh, cold water as soon as you can after swimming. Let them completely dry before putting them away for your next adventure, and avoid machine washing and detergents. Dry flat instead of ironing.
